چکیده

Bone augmentation requires scaffold to promote forming of natural bone structure. Currently most of the reported bone scaffolds are porous solids with uniform pores. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the effect of a graded porous β-tricalcium phosphate scaffolds on alveolar bone augmentation. Three groups of scaffolds were fabricated by a template-casting method: (1) graded porous scaffolds with large pores in the center and small pores at the periphery; (2) scaffolds with large uniform pores; (3) scaffolds with small uniform pores. Increased Osteogenic Potential of Pre-Osteoblasts on Three-Dimensional Printed Scaffolds Compared to Porous Scaffolds for Bone Regeneration

Background: One of the main challenges with conventional scaffold fabrication methods is the inability to control scaffold architecture. Recently, scaffolds with controlled shape and architecture have been fabricated using 3D-printing. Herein, we aimed to determine whether the much tighter control of microstructure of 3DP PLGA/β-TCP scaffolds is more effective in promoting osteogenesis than por...

Acidic peptide hydrogel scaffolds enhance calcium phosphate mineral turnover into bone tissue.

Designed peptides may generate molecular scaffolds in the form of hydrogels to support tissue regeneration. We studied the effect of hydrogels comprising β-sheet-forming peptides rich in aspartic amino acids and of tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP)-loaded hydrogels on calcium adsorption and cell culture in vitro, and on bone regeneration in vivo. The hydrogels were found to act as efficient depots f...

Electrospun Gelatin/β-TCP Composite Nanofibers Enhance Osteogenic Differentiation of BMSCs and In Vivo Bone Formation by Activating Ca2+-Sensing Receptor Signaling

Calcium phosphate- (CaP-) based composite scaffolds have been used extensively for the bone regeneration in bone tissue engineering. Previously, we developed a biomimetic composite nanofibrous membrane of gelatin/β-tricalcium phosphate (TCP) and confirmed their biological activity in vitro and bone regeneration in vivo. However, how these composite nanofibers promote the osteogenic differentiat...
